The COCC Barber Library Word Cafe is celebrating its third year with award-winning author and poet and The Nature of Words founder Ellen Waterston as COCC’s Scholar-In-Residence. She has put together a great Word Café series!
The 2007/2008 Word Café schedule continues the tradition of encouraging and exposing both Central Oregon Community College and OSU/Cascades student writers of poetry, fiction and literary nonfiction, showcasing regional writers’ new works and, this year, to presenting new takes on the craft of creative writing.
If you missed the season’s opener featuring Bend’s outstanding Slam Poets, you won’t want to miss any more! Come show what your sentences are made of! Take part in the open mic, part of every Word Café. And be sure to participate in the final Word Café For Students Only!
Word Cafés are held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the west-end Reading Room on the second floor of the COCC Barber Library. Refreshments and great readings and performances are served free of charge.
