The COCC campus charges 7 cents a page for printing.
This is not to make money, but to curb spiraling costs due to paper and print toner waste.
1. Either before or after you’ve clicked on print at the computer:
a) You will need to purchase a print card from the Barber Library lab, or have a COCC or OSU Cascades student ID card. New student cards have 50 cents for printing on them. You can add money to your ID card, or purchase a card, at the card machine in the alcove with the printers/photocopier (on the library main floor near reference desk).
b) To buy a card from the Barber Library lab you will need a $1 bill. The first card will have 50 cents (7copies) on it – you are paying 50 cents for the card itself. You can put more money on the card at any time, so don’t throw it away!
2. While at the computer:
a) Be sure to note the number of the computer you are using. The number is at the top of the computer monitor, e.g., Patron 22.
b) To avoid printing extra pages, use the computer File - Print Preview command. You can often end up with an extra page when printing from databases and web pages. To specify exactly which pages you want printed, go to “File”, then “print”, then in the “Pages” put in the page numbers you wish to print.
3. To activate your print job, go to the GoPrint machine:
a) Click on your Patron Number.
b) Click on the file you want to print.
c) Insert your card, magnetic strip side down (if the machine doesn’t read it, try inserting it from the opposite end).
d) Click GoPrint.
